Malam Jabba…

Malam Jabba
Malam Jabba

It was an early morning of 23rd May 2021 when we left our home for SWAT. 05:30 am being a little dark we covered 15 km in just 14 minutes. we decided to sleep during the flight because we didn’t sleep the whole night because of excitement. We departed at 07:00 am and reached Islamabad at 08:45 am but guess what ? we didn’t sleep ! all the way we were talking along and discussing every location possible to visit. Anyways, as a newbie to any other city than karachi, it was really good to feel the fresh air of Islamabad. We rented a car and with super high speed we reached Mingora, the stop that leads to every different direction in SWAT. There we got to know the the tourism was currently closed and the check post guarded by the Police was very strict in its rules. Tourism was supposed the open on 24th May. That was a tough moment because we didn’t have a place to stay. Everyone we asked they said the same thing “You wont be allowed to get in to Malam Jabba”. Then we used a trick, it was actually only the community people were allowed to go in through the check post, we we actually did we hide our bags underneath the seats and sat between those people and finally we got in 🙂 . It was a total of 56 km on a mountain, we were going zig zag and enjoyed every view. Simultaneously it started raining with a temperature dropping to 2 degree celsius. It was really chilled and very new to us so we enjoyed every bit of it, after a span of 4 hours we finally reached almost the top of MJ and started to search for a Room in a hotel. We got one for 1500 RS and we put our belongings in the room and got out of the room to see the heavenly view of MJ from the top that is seen only a few times per year. It was incredible what we were witnessing, it was like heaven on earth and we were astonished and surprised to see what nature contains within. After the rain stopped we had a walk through the roads to have dinner. After the dinner we went into our room. Gossips while having tea in a temperature of 2 degree was one of the best time in our life. countinuing with that, time spent by and we slept at about 10:00 pm. Unfortunately something funny happened and I woke up at 01:30 am (Not going to mention it :D) and then I woke up my friends too. We played some songs on speaker while having a cold tea with no taste but to be honest it felt nice. Going with the flow after some time we prayed Fajar and got out to see the mountain ranges.

Malam Jabba was all a new experience to us and we were enjoying every moment. We took a lot of pictures and then had a walk to have breakfast. It was very fresh anda paratha and chai and we got enough energy to have a round of MJ’s peek. We went to the top to have a ride of Chairlift but unfortunately it was closed and we couldn’t wait 3 hours to make it so we decided to visit Green Valley located inside MJ. It was really a beautiful place but also with that we were scammed by the local driver. For a 5 minute drive he charged us 1000 RS and it was not fair. Anyways we decided to leave MJ then and by a local bus we left which charged us very less 🙂 . From here our journey ended for Malam Jabba and started for Kalam, a beautiful city.
